Share a document with a secure link
Upload, set the controls you want, and send a link instead of an attachment.

Sharing a link rather than attaching a file means you keep control after you have sent it, and you can see what happened.
Steps
- Open Documents and upload your file.
- Choose Create link.
- Set the controls you want, then copy the link and send it.
The controls
- Password. The recipient must enter it to open the document.
- Email verification. Capture and verify who is viewing before they get in.
- Expiry. The link stops working after a date you set.
- Allow and block lists. Restrict access to certain email addresses or domains, or shut specific ones out.
- Downloads. Allow or prevent downloading the original file.
- Watermark. Stamp the viewer's email and the time across each page.
After you have sent it
You can change the controls, or disable the link entirely, at any time. Because recipients open a link rather than hold a file, turning it off actually stops access.
Troubleshooting
- They cannot open it. Check whether the link has expired, needs a password, or is restricted to a different address.
- You need to update the document. Upload a new version against the same link. The link stays the same and everyone gets the new version.
